C&F Porter Novelli has grown and evolved over the years as a driving force in the transformation of the Nigerian public relations business. We opened our doors in 1998 as The Corporate and Financial Communications Limited, a specialist consultancy focused on corporate and financial communications. By 2001 we restructured as a full service agency providing services in all the essential disciplines: consumer marketing, corporate affairs, and public affairs. To solidify our global reach in 2007, we took another major step forward by joining the vast Porter Novelli network as its West African partner and rebranded under the name C&F Porter Novelli. In the process, we became the first Nigerian branded partner of a major international public relations agency.
We commenced business as The Corporate and Financial Communications Limited, a specialist consultancy, focusing on corporate communications and financial public relations .

As communications consultants for the second phase of Nigeria’s privatisation programme, we developed the communications master plan, and implemented an awareness generation campaign which led to wide acceptance of privatisation
We were from the license bidding stage retained to provide vital support in ensuring that the MTN brand remains #1, a task that we accomplished such that the perception of MTN as a market leader was sustained over the period we managed the account.
Tasked with providing services to the government agencies responsible for securing passage of the bills, we undertook consensus building activities, lobbying legislators, creating alliances with civil society organisations and professional bodies, thus leading to successful passage of the legislations.
Following the legal actions brought against Pfizer by the Kano state government and the federal government with regards to the clinical trial of the drug, Trovafloxacin (Trovan), C&F Porter Novelli helped Pfizer with countering inaccurate information, setting the record straight, and explaining the wider implications of the actions against Pfizer, leading to a transparent settlement of the matter.
Against the background of heightened public scepticism and suspicion of the existing telecom brands , we focused on positioning Etisalat as the first new generation GSM company, while promoting brand endearment, which earned it the respect of subscribers, competition, and the public.
C&F Porter Novelli managed a communications campaign designed to educate major stakeholders of the real situation in the affected banks and the danger it portended for the banking sub-sector in the country, counter inaccurate information, set the record straight, and explain the wider implications of the recapitalisation process, resulting in the CBN garnering enough support from the critical stakeholder groups that made the recapitalisation program a success.
C&F Porter Novelli conceptualised and implemented communications programmes for various Coca-Cola Nigeria campaigns that helped the brand remain in top position both in terms of share of voice and preference relative to competition.
We have over the years provided the firm with support towards its purpose of building trust in society and solving important problems, leading to an outcome in which PwC remains in pole position amongst its competitors in terms of share of voice, reach on social media platforms and generation of search interest
C&F Porter Novelli managed events and communications in Ghana and Nigeria for this global initiative to drive education and awareness among key stakeholders as a means of positioning HP as a thought leader on the issue, engendering better understanding of the issues by procurement executives of government agencies, HP channel partner, and journalists.
Aimed at engendering a change in the attitude/behaviour of the people of Lagos and encouraging them to imbibe those values that will make for the improvement of Lagos State, the TBWA/C&F Porter Novelli Consortium executed this Lagos state government promoted campaign which hinged on the four pillars of Civic Responsibility, Social Justice, Good Neighbourliness, and Citizenship, in addition to highlighting the good in Lagos State and the very lifeline that connects its glorious past with its future
Our work covered three countries: Nigeria, Ghana, and Cameroon, and included providing influencer management, media relations and press office management, initiative management, and crisis management services for five brands as follows: Pampers, Ariel, Safeguard, Always, and Oral B.
Based on the objective of the IFC to promote responsible lending and borrowing while addressing some of the most common issues that consumers and MSMEs face, C&F Porter Novelli developed an integrated communications campaign, in addition to creating a stakeholder coalition comprising associations from the financial institutions and MSME, such that the end of the campaign, the National Collateral Registry had attracted N392b worth of financing statements.
We served as adviser at the initial phase of securing passage of the Demutualization of The Nigerian Stock Exchange Bill, and subsequently as communications consultant for the demutualisation process. The bill was successfully passed, and the demutualisation completed leading to a restructured Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) Plc.
We have in the twenty five years plus of our founding gained a reputation of launching major brands into the Nigerian market space and managing public issue campaigns.
We are part of the Porter Novelli (PN) network with over 100 offices in more than 60 countries worldwide. We have grown to become the PN central coordinating ‘hub’ for West/Central Africa; And have strategic alliances with PN Kenya, PN Tanzania, and PN UAE.
